3.1. Running Water Method
It is the most widely used method in aquaculture, and this method is performed in inland fish
pools. The water supplied from the water source enters the concrete pools used in trout
production, and then the water that comes out is given back to the source or to the nearby
stream or river. In this production method, which applies continuous water renewal, a large
amount of water is used. The water used must be collected from the channels and cleared of
solid wastes in the sedimentation ponds before it is discharged to the stream and river. This
method, which is preferred especially in trout farms due to its high dissolved oxygen and low
water temperature requirements, is the most widely used production method in inland fish
production in our country.
